Otto Knows is a Swedish DJ and music producer who has a number of hits in Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands. Otto Knows first fell for house music when he turned 16 years old and explored Stockholm’s wealth of underground dance clubs. He set out to become a DJ, but in later years he hung with Aviici and the members of Swedish House Mafia, who influenced him to try his hand at remixing. His remix of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” climbed the dance charts in 2010, the same year that Otto joined Aviici and Oliver Ingrosso on their collaborative single “iTrack.” A successful remix of Dada Life’s “Kick Out the Epic Motherfucker” followed in 2011, and in 2012 he launched his own solo career with the single “A Million Voices.”
The track dominated EDM clubs across Europe and crossed over to the pop charts in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. He has collaborated with artists including Britney Spears, Avivii, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso and has made remixes for ATB, Imogen Heap, and many others. Otto Knows is undoubtedly the next in a line of explosive new talent to emerge from the Refune Records stronghold. He is quickly becoming one of Sweden’s most popular exports, the next in the country’s rich lineage of musical talent. Stay tuned for upcoming events and shows featuring the talented DJ, Otto Knows. The Swedish duo, Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, came together in 2006, combining pop-leaning electro sounds and an over-the-top attitude. This eccentric duo injects their EDM with humor that fills dance floors to its capacity. They don’t care about genres. They don’t care about smartness. They don’t care about the things you care about. They just care about making their audience wanting to jump up and down all night long. Their single “The Fashionista Swindle” parodied the Sex Pistols with its artwork, “The Great Smorgasbord” introduced their love of processed meat, while “Do the Dada” introduced their love of being self-referential. Any song they choose to play fills the floor wherever the hottest electro is welcomed. They went official in 2009 with their debut album, Just Do The Dada, released by the Hussle label and featuring track titles like “Don’t Snort the Yellow Snow” and “So You Wanna Be a Prankster?” Their tour that followed after their album release, introduced Europe to their kinetic live shows where inflatables flew through the crowd, booking agents were forced to “Do the Dada” themselves, and the duo’s tour rider stated that the backstage area must be filled with champagne and bananas or the venue was punished with a tech-house set.
In 2010, they toured with Tiesto, playing remixes from Kylie Minogue to Chickenfoot and collaborating with Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, and Tara McDonald. In 2011 they headlined the Electric Daisy Festival in Los Angeles with a full marching band to perform their song “White Noise/Red Meat”. In July 2014, Dada Life debuted Dada Land: The Voyage, a mini-festival in San Bernardino, CA attended by over 10,000 fans where the duo arrived via hot air balloon. Dada Life will be gracing New York City tonight with their unique and enviable beats. Be sure to join this hilarious and extremely talented duo tonight at LAVO NYC for an unforgettable night. As Dada Life would say, “Destroy dance music and have fun. Don’t look back in the past. Always go forward. Don’t think too much. Always follow the money”.
